National Education and Patriotic Education

Under the school-based policy of “Safeguarding National Security and National Security Education,” our school is committed to cultivating students’ correct understanding of national identity and a sense of civic responsibility. Based on the enhanced “Curriculum Framework of National Security Education in Hong Kong,” the school has reviewed and developed a “School-based Overall Curriculum Framework for National Security Education,” integrating learning elements from four major areas across different key stages of education: (i) An Overview of the Nation; (ii) The Holistic View of National Security; (iii) The Constitution, “One Country, Two Systems,” the Hong Kong Basic Law, and National Security; and (iv) Legally Protected Rights and the Duty to Safeguard National Security. Meanwhile, each Key Learning Area has also established a “Subject Curriculum Framework” to provide clear guidance for subject teachers, ensuring the steady implementation of National Security Education into daily classroom teaching.

To deepen students’ understanding of “National Education and Patriotic Education,” our school has set up a “National Security Education Corner.” This space displays information related to national security, and provides resources such as reference books, pull-up banners, and board games, while also screening films on national affairs when appropriate, allowing students to learn about the nation’s development and national spirit in a relaxed and interactive environment.

Under the "National Education – Event Planning Calendar," our school has systematically planned and implemented appropriate school-based national education learning activities. On significant days, we hold national flag-raising ceremonies and deliver "speeches under the national flag." Additionally, we arrange co-curricular activities to deepen students' understanding of our nation's history, important figures, and core values, while cultivating attitudes of respect, law-abidance, and unity.

In terms of in-school learning, we also implement diverse national security-related activities, such as student seminars (introducing Hong Kong's national-level intangible cultural heritage), integrated activity lessons (national-level performance: face-changing), and national security general knowledge quiz competitions. Through different forms of learning, students are encouraged to think actively and express themselves willingly, internalizing knowledge into daily actions.

At the same time, our school actively participates in external activities and competitions, enabling students to enhance their learning outcomes beyond the school campus. These include visit activities to the "People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison," the "Tuen Mun District National Day Flag-Raising Ceremony in Celebration of the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China," visit activities to the "National Security Exhibition Gallery," the "Territory-wide Inter-school National Security Knowledge Challenge," the "Q&A on the Basic Law Quiz Competition," as well as participation in the 2026 "Constitution and Basic Law Territory-wide Inter-school Quiz Competition," among others.
